WELCOME TO QwesT FtM UK!

QwesT FTM UK aims to provide a focal point in the UK for Female-toward-Male transsexual, transgender, gender-variant people, and those questioning their gender identity - having previously been assigned as female.

QwesT FTM UK publishes and distributes the magazine BoysOwn, written by and for FtM folk; offers an information helpline; hosts a national biennial conference, and puts people in touch with their local support networks.

We are a registered charity based in the South West of the UK, but we aim to support FtM identified people and their SOFFAs (Significant Others, Friends, Family & Allies) throughout the country.

QwesT representatives have been involved with work on the Transgender Action Plan, which has informed government policy, and we aim to have a continuing influence on changing policy for the benefit of the FtM community in the UK

IMPROVING TREATMENT FOR TRANS PEOPLE

Hi there, my name is Robin Dundas and I am a trainee Counselling Psychologist in doctoral training at Regent’s College and the West London GIC. I’m carrying out doctoral research for my field of counselling psychology into the effects of society, stigmatisation and potentially shame on transgendered individuals. I am hoping that the research will contribute to more affirmative practice by counselling psychologists with transgendered individuals and a greater appreciation of the diversity of transgendered identities and experiences.

I’m looking for any transgendered people, over 21 years old who would be interested in being interviewed by me regarding their experiences and thoughts about themselves and their identities. If you would be interested in meeting and speaking with me, please contact me at robindundas@hotmail.com. Thanks in advance and best wishes,

Robin.
